Mr. Trelfa was employed by Fletcher Paper Company for 40 years; he was also a self-made historian dedicated to preserving Alpena's heritage.
Scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, photographs, and documents make up this collection. They cover Alpena County and surrounding areas, churches, organizations, sports, businesses, hospitals, schools, maritime, and other subjects. This is a third of Trelfa's collection. The other parts are at the Besser Museum of Northeast Michigan, Alpena, and the Clarke Historical Library, Mt. Pleasant.
(25 albums, 180 page index by Rhea & Lorrie LaCross; donated by Fred Trelfa, 1974).
