Become a Tutor

Provide assistance to those needing help reading, or English as a Second Language (ESL) students. For a rewarding and enriching experience, volunteer to be a READ tutor. Contact the office and sign up for a tutor training session.

Eligibility:Any community member is welcome to be a tutor.

Confidentiality: Tutors are requested to keep names of students confidential.

Hours: 1 to 2 hours each week for 1 student

Location:All tutoring takes place in public buildings, usually the library.

Training: 12 hours of training required; divided into 3 sessions usually offered in the Spring.

Transportation:Students and tutors provide their own transportation.
