READ Tutor Training
The READ Program will be hosting a tutor training
April 14th and 21st from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the Alice B. Wolf Room.
Training sessions will include:
- Strategies for teaching reading
- Overview of materials available
Volunteers usually tutor 1-2 hours per week with 1 student.
Volunteers will need to attend both Saturday training
sessions. Lunch will be provided.

READ moves to summer hours
On June 1st, the READ office
will move to our summer schedule.
The office will be open Wednesdays
from 9:30 a.m. -Noon. If you are
unable to be here during regular
hours leave a message on our phone (989.356.6188 Ext 15) and we will call you back.

contributed more than 1,275 hours
in the
last year. The Independent Sector, a
leadership forum for charities, values
volunteer time at $21.25 an hour. Using
those
figures, the Alpena READ
volunteers contributed more than $27,000 in the past year. Thank you
for your contribution to our program.
