Activities

The Friend’s mission is to support the library in four different areas: fundraising,
encouragement of its use, promoting its programs and resources, and to support
the library and staff by assisting with and attending its program and events.


Book Discussion

Books and Brown Bags, a book discussion group that meets at noon on Tuesdays.  

Reading to Children Program

Receptions
FOL hosts receptions for special events, such as Authors in the Fall

Gardens
Garden care at main library entrances. Tasks include: cleaning the plots in the spring,
planting annuals and perhaps some perennials, weeding as necessary during the summer
and putting to rest in autumn.

Summer Book Sale
This is the main fund-raising activity for FOL.

Authors in the Fall
Presentations by notable authors

Blizzard of Books
FOL purchases children's books just before Christmas that are wrapped and then
given to the Salvation Army for distribution to children who might otherwise receive
none.

Library Staff Appreciation Luncheon

Summer Book Club and Summer Book Club Carnival
Children's reading programs.
